The Bucket List
This was one of the more difficult of Mooncatblue’s challenges. It’s no easy thing coming up with a “to do” list that will ensure I’ll be ready to shuffle off to Buffalo when the grim reaper gives me a come hither look.
Sure, there are things I’d love to experience. I want to skydive. I want to go into space and see the sun peek around the edge of the earth. I’d love to see a book I’ve written on the shelf at Barnes and Noble.
But these things are thrills. They’ll amuse me to no end, maybe swell my head a bit, but they’re really no big deal. When the curtain comes down, I don’t really think I’ll care one way or another whether or not I mastered the art of calligraphy. The list is just a motivation to live well, to make the time here meaningful.
Don’t get me wrong; I will jump at the opportunity to go on an archaeological dig and still hope to visit the Galapagos Islands. I’d like to see a glacier. And as god is my witness, I AM going to learn to play the trombone.
But whether or not I do all these things, if I keep going the way I am, I’m pretty sure that by the time I’m drawing my last breath, I’m not going to have any regrets.

Hmmmm...would REALLY like to hear you play the trombone!
Sandra, wondering if you could play the Buffalo Shuffle ((lauging...)
Great attitude. I feel the same. Life is good even if I don't get to those fantastical goals.
Same for me! I just love each day and thankful for it! But I do want to go cross country in a VW Bus and I do want........ hee,hee!
you speak through my heart lady! I would love to do so many things, but right now, I am so thankful that I can do what ever it is I do, and that includes playing tennis in very hot temps.
i want to hear "76 Trombones" with you at the helm ... i tried to play the flute in grade school ... tried ... you go girl ... no regrets ...
And that is just how it should be.
I am curious why the trombone, though.
I like that bucket list.
I like the thought of seeing a book of mine at Barnes and Noble as well.
So you want to be a boner?
Neat list.
I'll be happy if I am remembered with a smile.
I like the way you are happy on your path

I have done a lot of the things on my vague and ever evolving list stored in my head, so I kinda feel the same way. Well, maybe just one or two regrets, for contrast in my life painting
@Bricker59 - That brought tears
Im with you there.
Live life. Its what its for.

@ZSA_MD - Stay hydrated you! We're stuck in perpetual rain up here, but I can't believe the numbers around the country . . . Thanks for the mini!
@BianchiStreet - @windupherskirt - @MooncatBlue - Bwaaaa . . . waaaaaa . . . waaaaaaa - what a fun instrument! wanna play Dixieland! I can imagine my career would be short-lived, though . . . I'd be so into it, I'd end up giving somebody a concussion!
@ItsWhatEyeKnow - @Loonsounds - @heart_beep - @nellinidaho - @AnamcharaConcepts - @DriftingDeadly - We just have to remember to have a bit of fun now and then . . . and love a lot! Thanks!
@Bricker59 - You will be . . . promise!
@godfatherofgreenbay - crack me up! a boner!
@storyslut - Mine keeps changing too . . . but no regrets for me . . . there's good in it all.
That's what it's all about - no regrets.
I have a lot of things I want to do.. but I don't think I will be a failure if I don't accomplish them. The point, for me, is to attempt to do them all so that my life is fulfilling. As long as I'm trying, it will make my life better. I don't see the bucket list as a plan, I see it as motivation..
I'd like to read your book, jackson. and I'd like to see the sun peek around the earth, too.
I like your list. : )

No regrets. That is the ticket!
I'm 83 today and I've done everything... pretty much everything... I've ever wanted to do... I think?... Most of you out there have a lot more years left to check off on your lists... Lucky lucky you!... I think?...
There is no limit to what we want so much to do. And who knows we may just be able to do it. One at a time, though. That is if age would not catch up on us. Thanks for this challenging piece.
And this is an example to mark my experience: Everyone I meet is like Sunshine*
Your will to carry no regrets will make it so!
a bucket list is a great idea, but it was a super sad movie!
