  • Day 1

This is the first day of vacation . . .

Only had one small panic attack about work . . . but I reminded myself that I left impeccable instructions and tied up all loose ends. They will get by just fine without me - new leaders will emerge and my life will be easier when I get back. That is the last word on the matter.

    I'm doing laundry, packing, packing, packing . . . paying bills . . . cleaning out the refrigerator . . .

Sounds boring but the music is playing loudly and there's excitement in the air . . .

Note to self: gotta pick up water canons when you get to VA . . . I'll bet those grandchildren o'mine have never had a proper water fight . . . a gramma's work is never done!

    vacay...

"...new leaders will emerge..."  Ha!  I loved that line!  I'm just finishing up my "stay-cation" - I was sure I would be a whirlwind of energy, checking projects off my to-do list in rapid succession.

Er, I've cleaned three drawers and two cupboards this week...more like a gentle breeze than a whirlwind.   There's still the weekend though, I may repaint the house yet!

Sounds like your grandkids are in for a good training on the proper use of water canons...enjoy!

@nellinidaho - Hey you! Thanks for the comment and mini! Did you realize we weren't friends already? I didn't . . . sorry it took so long!

  • MooncatBlue

I love the anticipation of going on vacation. Yes, let that be your last word on work! 9 I know how hard that is...)

    Enjoy your trip!!!!!

  • nellinidaho

@jacksoncroons - I have a tendency to overlook such things and go right to the good stuff .  Thanks for taking the initiative!

Water cannons are going to be a blast.  This may make me seem backwoods but I am excited for tomorrow's festivities.  The local fire departments have water fights.  It's like a tug of war but they aim their hoses at a keg attached to a cable.  It's too much fun.

    pWn3d!!!

    Grandchildrens of yours?

  • ZSA_MD

Have a wonderful vacation darling Jackson. Ok now... you have grand children?? How many? I thought you just had one daughter who is a college student and just returned home from England and a little boy who is little. Are you playing games with my mind?? I've always imagined you as in may be late thirties or early forties.

Any way, have a blast. I responded to your comment on my poen "My Song". Hope you get to read it sometime in the near future.

  • murisopsis

I thought water canons were only  "industrial strength" mounted in water parks! I had no idea you could buy them!! We just invested in a multitude of of SuperSoakers - with the water tank to strap on your back... Have a great vacation.
